There are many more colourful species in this genus (which I don´t
know any better - I beliewe this is mainly an Asia genus), but the only
European species is dull brown in colour, having only very little clorophyll
in its leaves. In fact, if N. nidus-avis would assimilate, it would
loos more energy than it would get. The leaves are tiny, shealding the
stem.
Because N. nidus-avis has no relatives in Finland, I won´t
