I can mention that there is just a single species in this genus, Calypso
bulbosa grows through the Picea-woods on a whole northern world, for example
Sweden, Finland, Russia, Japan and United States. In north America there
grows var. americana and var. occidentalis. Japanise and
Chinese Calypsos belong to var. speciosa and other Eurasia
specimens to var. bulbosa.
